Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit and Fixed Base Router with FLEXVOLT 6Ah

This is a DeWalt 20V MAX bundle: a three-piece cordless combo kit plus a fixed base router, sold with a FLEXVOLT 6Ah battery. The 20V MAX line covers drills, drivers, saws and more, and the FLEXVOLT pack runs 20V tools while giving extra runtime in high-draw ones. The router is a corded-style fixed base unit built for edge work, dados and trimming. Its only recorded daily price is $399.00, so there is no lower or higher point to compare against yet.

Pros
  • FLEXVOLT 6Ah battery gives long runtime and works across 20V MAX tools
  • Three tools plus a router covers drilling, driving, cutting and edge work
  • One battery platform shared with a large DeWalt lineup
  • Router's fixed base suits table-mounting and repeatable cuts
Cons
  • Bundle price is high for a single purchase
  • Only one battery listed, so two tools can't run at once without a spare
  • Fixed base router is less flexible than a plunge kit for deep mortises
  • Combo kit tool selection is fixed; you may not need every piece

Questions and answers

Is this bundle worth it over buying the tools separately?
Usually yes if you need most of the three combo tools and the router. If you only want the router, buy it alone and skip the kit.
Does the FLEXVOLT 6Ah battery work in all 20V MAX tools?
Yes. FLEXVOLT packs run in 20V MAX tools and deliver extra runtime in high-draw ones like saws and grinders.
Can the router be used in a router table?
A fixed base router is the usual choice for table mounting because height is set from below. Check that the base fits your table plate.
How many batteries come in the box?
The listing shows multiple batteries, but only the FLEXVOLT 6Ah is named. Confirm the exact count and charger before ordering.
When is the price likely to be lowest?
DeWalt kits typically drop around Black Friday and spring tool events. The only recorded price so far is $399.00, so watch for the first discount.
Is the DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit and Fixed Base Router with FLEXVOLT 6Ah at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $399.00 at Home Depot on October 31.
