Is the DeWalt DCD800D1E1 worth it?

It is a solid buy if you want a compact brushless drill on the DeWalt 20V platform and value the short body and light weight. At $239.00 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, you are paying a premium for a single-listing kit, so compare against bare-tool or larger-battery bundles before deciding.

How does it compare with the DCD791 or DCD777?

The DCD800 is shorter and lighter than the DCD791 and has more torque than the DCD777. It also uses DeWalt's newer compact brushless motor, so runtime is better than the older brushed DCD777.

What batteries does it use?

It runs on any DeWalt 20V MAX lithium-ion battery. The kit includes two 2.0 Ah packs, and you can swap in 4.0 or 5.0 Ah batteries for longer runtime.

The kit includes the drill/driver, two 2.0 Ah 20V MAX batteries, a charger, a belt hook and a kit bag.

Does it have a hammer mode?

No. The DCD800 is a drill/driver only. For masonry, look at DeWalt's 20V MAX hammer drill models.

Cordless drill kits usually drop during Black Friday, Father's Day and spring tool events. With only one new listing at $239.00 as of November 4, 2026, watch for holiday bundles that add a larger battery.
