Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX XR Brushless String Trimmer Blower Kit with 8 in. Brushless Pruning Chainsaw

A three-tool DeWalt 20V MAX XR outdoor kit: a brushless string trimmer, a brushless blower, and an 8 in. brushless pruning chainsaw. All three run on the same 20V MAX battery platform, so one pack set covers yard cleanup and limb trimming. The brushless motors are the step-up XR line, built for longer runtime than DeWalt's brushed tools. At $159.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, the kit sits at the low end of its recent range, well under what the three tools cost bought separately.

Pros
  • Three brushless tools on one 20V MAX battery platform
  • Trimmer, blower and pruning chainsaw cover most yard jobs
  • Kit pricing beats buying the tools separately
  • Shares batteries with DeWalt drills, saws and other 20V tools
  • Brushless motors run cooler and last longer than brushed
Cons
  • 20V power suits light-to-moderate work, not large properties
  • 8 in. bar limits the chainsaw to branches and small limbs
  • Blower is hand-held, not a backpack blower
  • Battery and charger included in the kit add to the price
  • Trimmer is string-only, no blade attachment

What reviewers say

Owners of DeWalt 20V outdoor kits generally rate the shared battery platform and brushless motors highly for home use. The common complaints are runtime on the blower and the small chainsaw bar for bigger limbs.

Pros
  • Batteries swap across all three tools
  • Brushless trimmer handles edging and light brush
  • Chainsaw cuts branches quickly for its size
Cons
  • Blower drains batteries fast on high
  • Chainsaw bar is short for anything beyond limbs
  • Kit batteries may be smaller than expected

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth it over buying the tools separately?
At $159.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, the kit costs less than the three tools bought individually, and you get batteries and a charger. It is the better value if you need all three tools.
Do the batteries fit other DeWalt 20V tools?
Yes. The kit uses the DeWalt 20V MAX battery platform, so the packs work in DeWalt 20V drills, impact drivers, saws and other 20V MAX tools.
How big a yard is the trimmer and blower good for?
They suit small-to-mid suburban yards. The blower is hand-held and drains batteries on high, so large lots and heavy leaf cleanup call for a backpack blower.
What can the 8 in. chainsaw cut?
Branches and small limbs up to about 8 in. across. It is a pruning saw, not a felling saw, so leave larger trunks to a gas or corded chainsaw.
When is the kit cheapest?
Outdoor combo kits tend to drop in fall and around holiday sales. The current $159.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026 is already near the low end of its recent range.
Where is the DeWalt 20V MAX XR Brushless String Trimmer Blower Kit with 8 in. Brushless Pruning Chainsaw cheapest?
