- Is the DeWalt ATOMIC hammer drill worth it over the XR?
- For tight spaces and general home work, yes. The ATOMIC is shorter and lighter. If you drill large holes or do regular masonry, the full-size XR hammer drill has more torque.
- Can it drill into concrete?
- It can drill small holes in brick, block and soft concrete with a masonry bit. For repeated or large-diameter concrete holes, use a rotary hammer.
- What battery does it use?
- Any DeWalt 20V MAX battery, including the POWERSTACK pack in the kit. The kit includes one battery and a charger.
- What is in the box?
- The drill, one 20V MAX POWERSTACK battery, a charger and a belt hook. A case is usually not included.
- How does it compare to the DeWalt DCD805?
- The DCD805 is a full-size XR hammer drill with more torque and a longer body. The ATOMIC is smaller and lighter but gives up some power.
- When is it cheapest?
- DeWalt kits tend to drop around Black Friday, Father's Day and end-of-season tool sales. Compare the kit price against buying the bare tool plus a POWERSTACK separately.
