Does the DeWalt DCL050 come with a battery?

No. It is sold as a bare tool, so you need a DeWalt 20V Max battery and charger. If you already own DeWalt 20V tools, your existing packs work.

How long does it run on a charge?

DeWalt rates it up to 10 hours on the 250-lumen setting, with 5 to 10 hours depending on the battery. The 500-lumen setting drains the pack faster.

Is it bright enough for camping?

At 500 lumens with a 140-degree spread, it lights a tent or picnic table well. It is not a spotlight and will not throw a beam far.

It carries an IP54 rating, so it resists dust and splashes. Do not submerge it or leave it out in heavy rain.

How does it compare with the DCL043?

The DCL043 is a larger spotlight rated at 1,000 lumens with a focused beam. The DCL050 is smaller, lighter and spreads light wider, which suits close work better.

Work lights like this often drop around Black Friday and holiday tool sales. At $45 at Amazon as of November 6, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its recent range.

Our take on the DeWalt DCL050

The DeWalt DCL050 is a compact 20V Max LED work light with three LEDs, two brightness settings (500 and 250 lumens) and a 140-degree pivoting head. It runs on DeWalt's slide-on 20V Max batteries, so it shares packs with the brand's drills and saws. It weighs about a quarter pound bare and has a metal telescoping hook for hanging. At $45 at Amazon as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with four stores listing it new.
