Questions and answers

Is this cabinet worth it over a steel cabinet?
Wood construction resists dents and blends into classroom or lab settings, and the mesh doors keep contents visible. Steel costs less but shows scratches and can rust in damp rooms.
What does the 40 lbs per square foot rating mean?
Each shelf holds about 40 lbs for every square foot of shelf area. A 4-foot-wide, 1-foot-deep shelf therefore supports roughly 160 lbs spread evenly.
Does it come assembled?
No. Assembly is required, and the cabinet must be fastened to wall studs. Plan for two people and a stud finder.
Are the doors lockable?
Yes. The hinged canvas-mesh doors use a keyed lock, so supplies can be secured between sessions.
What are the dimensions?
The listed width is 84 inches and depth 48 inches, with height listed as 0, which looks like a data error. Confirm the actual height with the seller before ordering.
When is the best time to buy?
School and lab furniture dealers discount most during summer and year-end clearance. Compare quotes across dealers, since pricing on this model varies widely.
