Questions and answers

Is this cabinet worth it for a school lab?
It fits the job if you need lockable, visible storage in a wood cabinet that arrives assembled. Compare its listed price with steel lab cabinets of similar size, which are usually cheaper but less warm-looking.
How much weight can each shelf hold?
Each shelf is rated at 40 lbs per square foot. With a 36 by 22 inch shelf, that is roughly 220 lbs spread evenly per shelf, but keep heavy loads centered and low.
Does it come assembled?
Yes, it ships fully assembled. Because it is 84 inches tall and 230 lbs, arrange help and measure doorways and hallways before delivery.
Can the shelves be adjusted?
Yes, all four shelves are adjustable, so you can set spacing for tall carboys, glassware racks or stacked bins.
Is the glass safety glass?
The doors use tempered glass, which is more impact-resistant than standard glass. It is still glass, so avoid slamming the doors or striking them with equipment.
When is the best time to buy?
School and lab furniture often sees discounts around back-to-school and end-of-year budget periods. Track the price history and buy when it sits near the low end of its recent range.
