Our take on the Dobyns Colt Casting Rod

The Dobyns Colt is a 7-foot, one-piece casting rod built on a high-modulus graphite blank with Kevlar wrapping and a full EVA handle. It is a medium-heavy, fast-action rod rated for 1/4 to 1 oz lures and 10 to 17 lb line, aimed at freshwater bass and similar fishing. The Colt line is Dobyns' entry-level series, so it trades some sensitivity for a low price. At $59.99 at Carolina Sportsman Outfitters as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the bottom of its recent range.
