It can be pitched with the included inner tent and groundsheet or floorless, and its mesh option and large side vents suit both warm and cold trips. It is sold in black and is aimed at adults camping in wind, rain and sun. Its only recorded daily price since October 28, 2026 is $149.00, so there is no lower or higher point in that window to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the DOD RX Pyramid Tent worth it?
At $149.00, it is a reasonable price for a four-season teepee that owners say stays dry in rain and wind. It suits campers who value quick setup and standing height over a roomy rectangular floor plan.
How does it compare with a standard dome tent?
The pyramid pitch is simpler and the peak is taller, so you can stand up inside. A dome tent usually offers more usable floor area for the same footprint and better headroom near the walls.
Can it be used in all four seasons?
DOD rates it as a four-season tent, with a skirted outer shell and a mesh option for warmer trips. It has no stove jack, so winter use means a closed shell and a good sleeping bag rather than a wood stove.
What is included in the box?
The box contains the inner tent and a groundsheet for under the inner tent. The outer shell, pole and stakes are part of the tent itself; the DOD 1Pole cap and DOD Tarp are sold separately.
How many people does it fit?
Owners report fitting two adults and a toddler with all their gear. The tall peak helps, but the sloped walls mean the floor space is tightest at the edges.
When is the price lowest?
The only daily price recorded since October 28, 2026 is $149.00, so there is no cheaper point in that window to wait for. Watch for seasonal camping sales if you are not in a hurry.
