Do these bags need a vacuum cleaner?

Yes. They seal with a vacuum, so you need a hose attachment or a hand pump, which is not listed as included.

Each bag is listed at 17.5 x 27.5 inches, a large size suited to bedding, coats and bulky clothing.

Can the bags be reused?

They are listed as reusable. Reuse depends on the zipper and valve staying intact, which is the weak point on thin bags.

Are they really waterproof and airtight?

The listing claims waterproof, airtight, mildew- and dust-resistant protection. Treat those as manufacturer claims and check the seal after each use.

How many bags come in a pack?

The listing shows 36 bags, which is why the per-bag price is so low.

Are they good for long-term storage?

For seasonal or short-term storage they are a cheap option. For long-term or valuable items, thicker branded bags with proven valves are safer.

Our take on the Dollar Tree Essentials Vacuum Storage Bag

Dollar Tree's vacuum storage bags are large plastic bags, listed at 17.5 x 27.5 inches, that seal with a vacuum and are marketed as waterproof, airtight and mildew-resistant. They are pitched as a cheap way to compress bedding, clothes and seasonal items, with claims of up to three times more space and reuse. The listing shows a 36-bag count, so the per-bag cost is very low compared with branded vacuum bags.
