Our take on the DreamCloud PressureSmart Extra Pillow Top Mattress Cooling Hybrid Gel Memory Foam

The DreamCloud PressureSmart Extra Pillow Top is a hybrid mattress that pairs gel memory foam with an innerspring core and adds a plush pillow-top layer for a soft, cushioned feel. It comes in six sizes from Twin to California King. The latest best price is $1,199, at the low end of its recent $1,199 to $1,249 range.

Best forSide sleepers who want pressure relief at the shoulders and hipsShoppers who like a soft, pillow-top feel over spring supportCouples who want a hybrid with a traditional innerspring bounceBack and stomach sleepers of lighter build
Pros
  • Gel memory foam and a pillow top cushion pressure points
  • Innerspring core gives more bounce and edge response than all-foam
  • Six sizes, including Twin XL and California King
  • Cooling gel foam aimed at hot sleepers
  • Price has held in a narrow band, so little reason to wait for a drop
Cons
  • Soft pillow top can feel too plush for heavier back and stomach sleepers
  • Hybrid plus pillow top makes for a tall, heavy mattress that is hard to move
  • Gel foam cooling helps but does not make it a true cooling mattress
  • Only 4.2 out of 5 from 157 ratings, so satisfaction is mixed

Questions and answers

Is the PressureSmart Extra Pillow Top worth it?
At $1,199 it is a reasonable price for a hybrid with a pillow top, especially if you want a soft feel. Skip it if you need firm support or sleep very hot.
How does it differ from the standard PressureSmart?
The Extra Pillow Top adds a thicker plush layer over the same hybrid foam-and-spring build. That makes it softer and taller than the standard version.
Does the cooling gel foam keep you cool?
Gel foam can draw some heat away, but the thick pillow top still traps warmth. Hot sleepers should expect it to sleep neutral at best, not cool.
What sizes are available?
Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King and California King. The listed best price is for the Queen.
Is it good for side sleepers?
Yes. The soft pillow top cushions shoulders and hips, which suits side sleepers. Heavier back and stomach sleepers may find it too soft.
When is it cheapest?
The best price seen recently was $1,199 on October 29, 2026, against a high of $1,249 on October 30. The range is narrow, so discounts are small.
