Questions and answers

Is the 20-inch seat wide enough for me?
A 20-inch seat suits users who find 18-inch chairs tight, often those with a wider hip or thigh measurement. Measure your widest point seated and add about an inch of clearance on each side.
How much does it weigh?
The Silver Sport II is a steel-frame chair, so expect it to be noticeably heavier than aluminum transport chairs. It is manageable for two people but a strain for one person lifting it into a trunk.
Can I take the armrests and footrests off?
Yes. The full armrests detach and the footrests swing away, which helps with side transfers and getting in and out of a car.
Does it fit in a car trunk?
Yes, it folds flat and fits in most sedan trunks. Check your trunk opening, since the folded chair is bulkier than a lightweight transport chair.
Is $199 a good price?
It is the best new price among the two stores listing it, at $199.00 at Scootaround Store as of November 7, 2026. That is at the low end of its recent range, so it is a fair buy at that price.
Is it covered by insurance or Medicare?
Manual wheelchairs like this are often eligible for insurance or Medicare reimbursement when medically necessary. Check with your supplier and doctor about paperwork before buying.
Where is the Drive Silver Sport II Wheelchair 20" cheapest?
At Scootaround Store, for $199.00, as of our latest check.
