This is a 4-pack of Drolet Micore 300 mineral fiber boards, each 48 x 24 x 1/2 inch and UL-listed as non-combustible. They are used as the insulating layer under hearth pads, tile and stone when building an NFPA-compliant hearth for a wood stove or fireplace. Each board weighs about 30 lb, so a 4-pack is roughly 120 lb of dense board. It is a building material rather than a finished pad, so the price reflects the raw board count, not a finished hearth.
