HISTORY OF THE DUANE ALLMAN 1957 GIBSON GOLDTOP

Imagine the raw power and iconic riffs! Duane Allman acquired this original 1957 Gibson Goldtop Les Paul, sporting no pickguard and two roaring PAF humbucker pickups, back in 1969. This magnificent instrument wasn't just a studio workhorse; it was a stage legend, featured prominently on the Allman Brothers Band's explosive 1969 debut and the soulful 1970 Idlewild South albums. But its legacy extends even further! As a session musician during 1969-1970, Duane reportedly unleashed the power of this very guitar on seminal recordings with an unbelievable roster of legends including Boz Scaggs, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Ronnie Hawkins, Johnny Jenkins, Lulu, John Hammond, Delaney & Bonnie, and of course, the monumental Derek & the Dominos' historic Layla album. This is the ultimate tribute to the Crossroads God of electric guitar!
