Is the Fire Hose Working Vest worth it?

If you work outside in cool weather and want a tough, water-repellent layer that leaves your arms free, it is a reasonable buy. If you need real rain protection or warmth in freezing temperatures, a jacket is the better choice.

How does it compare to Duluth's Fire Hose jackets?

It uses the same heavy canvas and moisture-repellent finish but drops the sleeves and hood. That makes it lighter and less restrictive for overhead work, but it offers less coverage and warmth.

Does it run true to size?

It is cut as a workwear layer, so it fits roomier than a shirt to allow a hoodie underneath. Owners who want a trim fit often size down.

No. The canvas repels moisture and resists mist, but it is water-resistant, not waterproof, and seams are not sealed.

What pockets does it have?

It has open chest pockets and flapped chest pockets. There are no lower hand pockets.

When is the best time to buy it?

Watch for seasonal workwear sales in fall and around major holidays. Compare the live price across stores before buying.

Our take on the Duluth Trading Men's Fire Hose Working Vest

The Duluth Trading Fire Hose Working Vest is a sleeveless workwear layer cut from the brand's Fire Hose canvas, a heavy cotton duck treated to repel moisture and resist mist. It closes with snaps and carries open and flapped chest pockets for tools, pens and small parts. It suits cool-morning and shoulder-season work where a jacket is too much but a shirt alone is too little. No current store price was supplied, so check the live comparison before buying.
