Is this vacuum new or refurbished?

It is refurbished. The unit has been reconditioned rather than sold as new, which is why the price sits at $169.99 at ShopSimon as of October 29, 2026.

Is $169.99 a good price for a refurbished V8 Origin?

It is the only price on record since October 29, 2026, so there is no lower point to wait for. Judge it against what other stores charge for the same refurbished model.

How long does the battery last?

Dyson rates the V8 for up to about 40 minutes in low mode, with much shorter run time in max mode. Heavy carpet cleaning will drain it faster.

Does it work on pet hair?

Yes. The Motorbar head has hair removal vanes that clear long hair and pet hair from the brush bar, and the hair screw tool is made for upholstery and pet beds.

What comes in the box?

Expect the vacuum, the Motorbar cleaner head, the hair screw tool and a charger. Check the listing for the exact tool set, since refurbished bundles can vary.

Can it clean stairs and cars?

Yes. It converts to a handheld with one click, which suits stairs, car seats and pet beds.

Our take on the Dyson Refurbished Dyson V8 Origin Vacuum cleaner

The Dyson V8 Origin is a cordless stick vacuum with a 0.14 gal bin, a de-tangling Motorbar cleaner head and a hair screw tool aimed at pet homes. It converts to a handheld with one click and uses whole-machine filtration to trap fine dust and pet allergens. This is a refurbished unit, so expect a used or reconditioned body rather than a new one. Its price has sat flat at $169.99 at ShopSimon since October 29, 2026, so there is no cheaper day in the recent record to wait for.
