Is the Edx 23-inch heater worth it?

For a small room and a tight budget, yes. At $40.99 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it delivers 5,100 BTU with a remote and thermostat. If you need to heat a large space or want a certified unit, spend more.

How big a room will it heat?

The listed maximum is 215 square feet, roughly a bedroom or small office. Expect it to warm that space, not an open-plan living area.

Does it need a special outlet?

No. It runs on standard 120V household current at 1500 watts, which draws about 12.5 amps, so use a dedicated circuit and avoid extension cords.

Does it have a safety certification?

The listing says no NRTL listing, so it lacks a UL or ETL mark. Keep it clear of curtains and furniture and never leave it running unattended.

What comes in the box?

The heater and a remote control. Batteries for the remote and any warranty terms are not stated, so confirm with the seller.

Only one store, Walmart, prices it new at $40.99 as of November 8, 2026, so there is little to compare. Watch for seasonal markdowns in late fall and winter.

Pros

1500W ceramic element puts out 5,100 BTU, enough for a small room
Four heat settings plus a 50°–95° thermostat
Remote control means you don't have to cross a cold room to adjust it
Standard 120V plug, so it works in any normal outlet
Low price: $40.99 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026

Cons

No NRTL safety listing (UL, ETL or similar), which matters for a 1500W heater
The listed 500 amps is implausible for a 120V plug-in heater; treat the spec sheet with caution
Ceramic fan heaters are audible, and no noise figure is published
215 sq ft is a small-room rating; it won't carry an open living area
No stated warranty or tip-over/shutoff details
