Is the Select Cut worth it over the standard EGO mower?

If you mulch often or deal with thick grass, yes. The dual-blade Select Cut gives a finer cut and better mulching than a single-blade deck. For light, regular mowing the simpler model is enough.

How long does the battery last?

Runtime depends on the battery and grass conditions. A 7.5Ah pack typically covers a moderate suburban lawn; larger lots need a second battery or a bigger pack. Wet, tall grass drains it faster.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

It depends on the kit you buy. Some bundles include a battery and charger, others are tool-only. Check the listing before ordering if you do not already own EGO 56V batteries.

Can it bag, mulch and side discharge?

Yes. It supports mulching, bagging and side discharge, and the Select Cut blades can be swapped for the job. Mulching with the dual-blade setup is its strongest mode.

Yes. The variable-speed self-propelled drive handles slopes well. It is heavy, so keep the drive engaged on inclines rather than pushing it.

Cordless mower prices tend to drop in late fall and around spring sales events. Watch the price history and buy outside the peak spring window if you can wait.

Our take on the EGO Power+ 21 in. Select Cut Self-Propelled Mower

The EGO Power+ 21 in. Select Cut is a cordless, self-propelled walk-behind mower on a 21-inch deck. Its Select Cut system takes two stacked blades, so you can run a single mulching blade for light grass or the combo for heavier growth. Variable-speed self-propulsion lets you set the pace, and it runs on EGO's 56V ARC Lithium batteries, which are shared across the brand's tools. It is one of the more expensive cordless mowers, so the battery platform and cut quality are what you pay for.
