Our take on the Electactic Compact 1500W/750W Ceramic Portable Space Heater with Thermostat

The Electactic Compact Ceramic Space Heater is a small corded electric heater with two heat settings, 1500W and 750W, and a manual thermostat dial. It is rated for rooms up to 500 sq ft, though a 1500W heater realistically warms a single room or a spot near you rather than a whole floor. It has no NRTL safety listing, which matters for a device that runs unattended. At $25.99 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the low end of what compact ceramic heaters cost.

Pros
  • Low price at $25.99
  • Two heat levels: 1500W and 750W

  • Compact and easy to move between rooms
  • Simple manual dials with no app or setup
Cons
  • No NRTL safety certification (UL, ETL or similar)

Questions and answers

Is this heater worth it?
At $25.99 it is a cheap way to take the chill off a small room or a spot near your desk. If you need whole-room heating or a certified safety listing, spend more on a UL- or ETL-listed model.
Can it really heat 500 sq ft?
No. A 1500W heater puts out about 5,100 BTU, which realistically warms one room of roughly 150 to 200 sq ft in mild conditions. The 500 sq ft figure assumes near-perfect insulation.
Does it need a special outlet?
It runs on standard 110V household current, but at 1500W it pulls about 12.5 amps. Plug it directly into a wall outlet on a 15A circuit and avoid extension cords or power strips.
Does it have a safety certification?
No. The listing shows no NRTL listing such as UL or ETL. That is a real drawback for a heater, so keep it away from curtains and never leave it running unattended.
How does the thermostat work?
It is a manual dial, not a digital setpoint. You turn it until the heater cycles on and off around your preferred warmth, which means the room temperature will drift a few degrees.
When is it cheapest?
Space heaters usually drop in price in late winter and early spring as stores clear stock. Watch the price history for dips below $25.99.
Where is the Electactic Compact 1500W/750W Ceramic Portable Space Heater with Thermostat cheapest?
At Walmart, for $25.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Electactic Compact 1500W/750W Ceramic Portable Space Heater with Thermostat?
