Is the Elgato Ring Light worth it?

It is worth it if you want bright, color-accurate light with app control for streaming or video calls. Budget ring lights cost far less but usually offer lower CRI and fewer controls.

It outputs up to 2500 lumens, which is enough to light a face and background in a normal room. You can dim it down for close-up work.

Can I change the color temperature?

Yes. Color temperature is adjustable, and the two diffusion layers soften the light. Control it from the app or manually.

What is included in the box?

The ring light, its clamp-on desk stand and the 1/4-inch ball mount. Check the listing for the exact bundle, since some sellers add a phone or camera mount.

Does it work with a phone or camera?

It mounts by 1/4-inch screw, the standard tripod thread, so most cameras and phone mounts fit. A phone holder may be sold separately.

Elgato gear tends to drop during major sales events and holiday promotions. Track its price history here and buy when it falls below its recent range.
