Is this tub good for elderly or less mobile users?

The low threshold and textured floor help, but the inward-swinging door leaves less clear space to stand in, and one buyer says it is not suitable for elderly people. A grab bar cannot be mounted on the tub itself, so plan wall-mounted support.

Does it come with a shower screen?

No. The glass shower screen is optional and sold separately; the box has the tub shell, the 2-inch drain with pull-up chain and overflow, and a cap for one drain port.

What drain setup does it need?

It has two 2-inch outlets and an overflow, and the cap covers one port if you use only one. A plumber connects the outlets to your standard 1 1/2-inch house drain with piping you supply.

How does it compare with a curved-wall walk-in tub?

The center door makes a vertical wall, so the floor is wider and flatter than a curved-wall tub of the same footprint. The trade-off is that the door swings into the tub, so you step around it.

Will it fit a standard 30 x 60 tub alcove?

The footprint matches a common 30 x 60 inch tub space, and adjustable leveling legs help on uneven floors. Confirm your door swing clearance and plumbing rough-in before ordering.

When is the best time to buy it?

Walk-in tubs usually see the deepest discounts during bathroom-remodel sales and holiday promotions. Track the price history and buy when a quote falls below the recent range.

About the Ella's Bubbles Laydown 30x60 Walk in Bathtub with Drain LA3060

The walk-in tub shell of the Laydown 30″ x 60″ is constructed with premium acrylic in a white glossy finish, supported by a stainless-steel frame with adjustable leveling legs, and reinforced with fiberglass gel coat layers. The nonporous acrylic surface is easy to clean and impermeable to mold and mildew. A textured floor and a low step-in threshold, enhance your safety and allow quick and safe entry and exit in and out of the tub. Ella’s Lay Down 30” x 60” Walk-In Tubs main feature is the unique tempered glass inward swing door with a brushed finish aluminum frame. The sleek door was designed in the center of the tub, which establishes a vertical tub wall and creates a wider interior floor space opposed to that of a standard curvature wall. This, along with a low step-in threshold and textured floors, may reduce the chances of tripping and slipping when standing in, showering, and entering or exiting the tub. An optional glass shower screen is available to make your tub more shower-like. The Lay Down 30” x 60” comes with a Single 2” Drain with emergency pull up chain, consisting of two 2” outlets and an overflow. A cap is also included to cover 1 of 2 ports if needed. The 2” drain outlets can be connected to the standard 1 ½” house drain with piping selected by a professional plumber. The selection of drain pipe configuration and the pipes and fittings are up to the homeowner or licensed plumber. However, for the most efficient drainage, please consider connecting both ports to a 2” house drain if possible.

Optional Packages:

The Hydro Massage System includes: a hydro pump with an in-line water heater, eco-friendly ozone sterilization system, hydro massage intensity dial control, and strategically positioned hydro jet system for targeted and effective massaging. The in-line water heater helps maintain the water temperature at constant level while bathing. The ozone sterilization system is the most eco-friendly, chemical free disinfectant that can eliminate a wide variety of inorganic, organic, and microbiological bacteria. The sterilization system is especially helpful in eliminating odors and hygienic maintenance. The in-line water heater and ozone sterilization automatically engage when the hydro massage push control is pressed down when turning on your jets. The hydro massage intensity dial control allows you to adjust the strength of the water stream by adding more or less air into the hydro system. The Laydown60, 30” x 60” tub, has eight (8) strategically placed hydro jets in order to deliver optimal therapeutic relief. These jets provide relief to your back, hips, thighs, feet and calves.

The Air Jet Massage System includes an air pump with a 3-speed variable push control, strategically positioned air jets for optimal therapeutic relief, and an auto-purge to maintain an air system free of any build ups. The Air Massage System’s most popular control system is the on/off push control because the buttons were designed to rise above the deck in order to make it easier to push. The 30” x 60” has twenty (20) strategically placed air jets that pull in air and blow it into the water to create a gentle, relaxing massage. These fixed flat jets work to provide relief to your back, hips, thighs, foot, and legs. The Air Jet Massage System also includes an auto-purge feature. This feature engages automatically 20 minutes after the pump has been turned off to purge water out of the air jet lines. The auto-purge will run for 120 seconds to ensure your system is clear and free of moisture and excess water helping to prevent the mildew buildup.
