Our take on the Emonia Pillow Top Mattress Pad Cover, Washable Bamboo Viscose Mattress Topper

The Emonia Pillow Top Mattress Pad is a 1-inch-thick queen topper with a bamboo viscose cover, sold as a washable way to soften a firm mattress. It is a budget pad, not a memory foam topper, so expect a light cushion layer rather than deep sink-in support. At $23.39 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a queen pad of this type costs.

Best forRenters and guest rooms needing a cheap comfort upgradeSoftening a too-firm mattress without changing its feel muchHot sleepers who want a breathable coverAnyone who wants a topper they can machine wash
Pros
  • Bamboo viscose cover feels smooth and breathes better than polyester
  • 1-inch loft adds light cushioning without changing mattress firmness much
  • Washable, which most foam toppers are not
  • Low price for a queen size
  • Elasticated skirt style keeps it from sliding on most mattresses
Cons
  • 1 inch is thin; it will not fix a sagging or badly worn mattress
  • Bamboo viscose can shrink or pill if washed hot or tumble dried
  • Loft flattens with use, so it needs regular fluffing
  • Not a true pillow-top feel despite the name

Questions and answers

Is this a mattress topper or a mattress protector?
It is a padded topper with a washable cover, meant to add a little softness. It is not waterproof, so it will not protect against spills.
Will 1 inch make a firm mattress feel softer?
Slightly. It takes the edge off a hard surface but will not change the mattress's overall support or fix sagging.
Can I machine wash and dry it?
Yes, it is washable. Wash cold and air dry or tumble on low, since high heat can shrink the bamboo viscose.
Does it fit a queen mattress?
Yes, this listing is the queen size. The skirt stretches over standard queen mattresses up to about 15 inches deep.
Is it good for hot sleepers?
Better than a polyester or foam pad. The bamboo viscose cover breathes, though the padding underneath still traps some heat.
When is the best time to buy?
At $23.39 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its range. Watch for bedding sales around Black Friday and White Sale season for small drops.
