Our take on the Eonon Double-DIN Android 14 Head Unit

The Eonon Double-DIN Android 14 Head Unit is a 10.1-inch aftermarket car stereo that runs Android 14 and supports both Apple and Android phones. Its large touchscreen and open Android platform set it apart from simpler double-DIN radios. It is a value-focused unit, and its latest best price sits near the low end of its recent range.

Best for
Drivers upgrading an older double-DIN dash
Android users who want apps and navigation on a big screen
iPhone owners who want wireless CarPlay-style mirroring
Budget buyers who want a large touchscreen
Pros
  • 10.1-inch screen is much larger than a standard double-DIN display
  • Runs Android 14, so apps install from the Play Store
  • Supports both Apple and Android phone connection
  • Double-DIN fitment covers many older cars
  • Typically priced well below big-brand Android head units
Cons
  • 10.1-inch screen often needs a dash kit and protrudes from the dash
  • Android head units can be slow to boot and lag over time
  • Sound quality depends on the car's speakers and amp, not the unit alone
  • No guaranteed long-term software updates
  • Installation wiring and steering-wheel controls can need extra adapters

Questions and answers

Is the Eonon Android 14 head unit worth it?
It is worth it if you want a big Android screen on a budget and can handle some setup work. Buyers who want polished, reliable software should look at a name-brand unit instead.
Will a 10.1-inch screen fit my double-DIN dash?
The chassis is double-DIN, but the 10.1-inch screen is wider than the dash opening. Most cars need a model-specific dash kit, and the screen usually sits proud of the dash.
Does it work with iPhone and Android phones?
Yes. It supports both Apple and Android phones, though the exact connection method (wired or wireless) depends on the model and phone.
Can I use Google Maps and streaming apps on it?
Yes. Android 14 lets you install apps from the Play Store, including navigation and music apps, when the unit has a data connection.
What is in the box?
Typically the head unit, a wiring harness, GPS antenna and basic cables. Dash kits, CAN bus adapters and steering-wheel adapters are usually sold separately.
When is it cheapest?
Eonon units tend to drop during major sale events and when a newer model launches. Its latest best price is already near the low end of its recent range.
