Is this set worth it for a beginner?

Yes. Nine sizes at $12.49 at Hooks & Needles as of November 3 covers the hooks most beginner patterns call for, at less than the price of two premium hooks.

What sizes are included?

The set has nine hooks spanning a full range of yarn weights. Check the listed sizes against your pattern before buying, since the page does not spell out each millimeter size.

How does it compare with premium hooks?

Premium hooks usually have smoother, more precisely machined tips and better size markings. This set trades some of that precision for a much lower price and comfortable rubber grips.

Does it come with a case?

No. The box contains nine hooks only, so plan on a separate pouch or case for storage.

Are the handles good for arthritic hands?

The soft, rounded rubber grips are designed to reduce fatigue and are easier to hold than plain aluminum hooks. Grip comfort is personal, so try one size before committing to a long project.

Our take on the Ergonomic Crochet Hook Set 9 Pcs

This is a nine-piece crochet hook set with soft thermoplastic rubber handles and aluminum tips, sold in bright colors. The rounded, non-slip grips are meant to reduce hand fatigue during long sessions, and the nine sizes cover most yarn weights and patterns. At $12.49 at Hooks & Needles as of November 3, it costs less than two individual premium hooks, so it sits at the low end of what a full ergonomic set usually runs.
