Our take on the Ermenrich Seek TV70 Thermal Imaging Camera

The Ermenrich Seek TV70 is a handheld thermal imaging camera with a 120x90px thermal sensor, a 1MP visual camera and a 240x320 LCD screen. It records video, runs at 25 Hz and offers 8 color palettes, so you can spot heat differences and match them to the visible scene. A 2600mAh battery gives up to 4 hours of continuous use, and it charges over USB. It is a budget-class thermal tool; its 120x90 resolution is low by modern standards, so expect blocky images and limited detail at distance.

Questions and answers

Is the Ermenrich Seek TV70 worth it?
For basic heat-spotting around a house or workshop, yes, if the price is low. Its 120x90 sensor cannot show fine detail, so do not expect to diagnose small components or distant objects.
How does 120x90 thermal resolution compare with rivals?
It is entry level. Many current budget thermal cameras offer 160x120 or 256x192, which show noticeably sharper edges and more detail. The TV70 competes on price, not image quality.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 4 hours of continuous operation from the 2600mAh lithium battery. It recharges over USB, so a power bank can extend a session.
Can it measure temperature?
The listed specs cover imaging and palettes but give no temperature range or accuracy figures. Treat it as a heat-spotting viewer unless the maker states measurement specs.
What is in the box?
The listed contents are the camera and a USB charging cable. No case, strap or memory card is specified, so check the package list before buying.
When is it cheapest?
Thermal cameras often drop during seasonal sales and clearance events. Track its price history and buy when the current price sits near the low end of its recent range.
