Our take on the Escous Electric Mini Excavator

The Escous is a tracked, battery-powered mini excavator rated at 1,200 kg with a 72V lithium-ion pack. It is aimed at landowners and small contractors who want a quiet, zero-exhaust machine for digging, trenching and grading on tight sites. Its narrow width suits gates, yards and garden plots where a diesel machine of this size would be awkward. The best new price is $16,800 at Escous as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no competing price to compare against.

Best forLandowners with acreage and repeated digging jobsSmall contractors working in tight or enclosed sitesNoise- and emission-sensitive jobs near homesBuyers who want to avoid diesel fuel and engine upkeep
Pros
  • Electric drive means no exhaust fumes and low noise
  • 72V lithium-ion pack instead of lead-acid
  • Narrow tracked footprint fits gates and garden plots
  • 1,200 kg class is light enough for trailer transport
  • Fewer engine parts to service than a diesel equivalent
Cons
  • Only one store lists it, so no price competition
  • Runtime per charge is not published, and charging takes hours
  • No dealer network or parts history behind the brand
  • Battery replacement cost is a large future expense
  • Attachments and service support are likely limited

Questions and answers

Is the Escous mini excavator worth $16,800?
That depends on how much digging you do. At $16,800 it costs more than many used diesel minis of similar size, so it pays off mainly for owners who value quiet, fume-free operation and low running costs over a long period.
How long does it run on one charge?
Escous does not publish a runtime figure for the 72V pack. Expect several hours of mixed work, less under continuous digging, and plan charging around breaks or overnight.
How does it compare with a diesel mini excavator?
It is quieter, emits no exhaust and needs no fuel, which helps indoors, in tunnels or near homes. A diesel of the same weight usually costs less up front and refuels in minutes rather than charging for hours.
Can it fit through a standard gate?
The listing describes it as narrow, but no exact width is given. Measure your gate and check the machine's dimensions with Escous before ordering, since a 1,200 kg tracked excavator is still a substantial machine.
What comes in the box?
The package count is one machine. Confirm with Escous whether a charger, battery and any buckets or attachments are included, because those are often sold separately at this price level.
When is the price lowest?
With a single seller, the price is set by Escous rather than by competition. Watch for seasonal or end-of-year promotions, and check the price history before buying.
Where is the Escous Electric Mini Excavator cheapest?
At Escous, for $16,800.00, as of our latest check.
