Is the Eskute D300 worth it?

At $659 at Distritech as of November 3, it is a low-cost way into a folding fat-tire e-bike with a 750W motor. Expect a heavy steel frame and a short one-year warranty rather than premium components.

How fast does it go and how far on a charge?

The motor is rated to 20 mph. The 80-mile range figure assumes low pedal assist; expect considerably less when using the throttle or riding hills.

How big and heavy is it folded?

It uses 20-inch wheels with 4-inch tires and a high carbon steel frame, so it is compact when folded but heavy to lift. Check the folded dimensions before buying if you plan to carry it upstairs.

Eskute lists a minimum rider height of 5.1 feet, and the seat and handlebars adjust. It is an adult bike, not a good fit for children.

What comes in the box?

The bike, battery, charger, reflectors, tool kit, user manual, phone bag and lock. You assemble and adjust it yourself out of the box.

When is the best time to buy?

The price has moved only between $659 and $669 since October 31, so there is no clear seasonal low to wait for. Buy when you need it and watch for a drop below $659.
