How often should I replace the cartridge?

The listing gives both 3 and 6 months, so plan on 3 months in heavy use and up to 6 in light use. Replace it sooner if the chlorine smell returns or pressure drops.

Will it fit my shower head?

It uses 1/2" NPT threads and is listed as compatible with all standard U.S. shower arms and heads. You keep your existing shower head and mount it on the filter.

Does it soften hard water?

No. It is a chlorine-targeting filter with vitamin C, not a water softener, so it won't remove calcium or stop scale.

The filter, one cartridge, an adapter, plumbers tape, replacement gaskets and screened washers. No tools are needed.

Our take on the EverGlow Shower Filter

The EverGlow Shower Filter is an inline cartridge filter that screws onto a standard 1/2" NPT shower arm and sits between the arm and your shower head. It uses a 15-stage multi-stage cartridge to target chlorine and adds a vitamin C infusion, and the maker lists a 6-month filter life with replacement cartridges sold separately. It is a plastic, chrome-finished unit, not a water softener, and it is not WaterSense certified. At $24.99 at Target as of November 6, 2026, it is the only new price we have on record, so there is no recent range to compare it against.
