Is the Fanxiang S101q worth it?

At $59.39 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it is a cheap way to replace a hard drive in an older laptop or desktop. If your machine has an NVMe slot, an NVMe drive will be much faster for similar money.

Will it fit my laptop?

It is a standard 2.5-inch SATA drive, so it fits most laptops and desktops with a 2.5-inch bay. Check that your machine uses SATA rather than only M.2 before buying.

How fast is it compared with an NVMe SSD?

It is rated at 540 MB/s read and 450 MB/s write over SATA. NVMe drives typically reach several thousand MB/s, so this is a budget upgrade, not a performance part.

Does it come with cloning software or a cable?

The listing is a single piece with no cable or software mentioned. Plan to reinstall the system or use your own cloning tool and SATA cable.

When is the best time to buy it?

Only one store lists it new at $59.39 as of November 6, 2026, so there is little price competition. Watch for SSD sales events, when 480GB SATA drives often drop.
