Is the Farberware 7.3 cu ft refrigerator worth it?

It is a budget pick for a tight space, but its 2.4 out of 5 rating is a warning sign. Compare it with other compact top-freezer models before committing.

How often do I have to defrost it?

It uses manual defrost, so the freezer needs thawing when ice builds up, often every few months. Plan to empty and clean it each time.

Will it fit under a standard counter?

At 56.3 inches tall it will not fit under a counter, and at 22.8 inches deep without the door it is not counter-depth. Measure your opening including door swing before buying.

Does it come with an ice maker?

No. There is no ice maker or water dispenser, so you will need ice trays or a separate appliance.

What is the capacity in real terms?

7.3 cu ft total across the fridge and freezer, which suits one or two people. It is tight for a family or for bulk grocery runs.

Small refrigerators like this tend to drop during back-to-school and holiday sales. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Farberware 7.3 cu ft Top Mount Double Door Refrigerator

The Farberware 7.3 cu ft Top Mount is a small freestanding refrigerator with a freezer on top, glass shelves and three door bins. It suits tight spaces like apartments, dorms and offices, and it skips an ice maker and water dispenser to keep the price and footprint down. It uses manual defrost, so you will need to empty and defrost the freezer periodically. Its 2.4 out of 5 rating from 214 ratings is weak for this class, so check the complaints before buying.
