Our take on the Fashioncha Japanese Style Pleated Lampshade E27 Clip On

This is a small clip-on lampshade in a Japanese pleated style, sized 7.87 x 3.94 x 3.94 inches and weighing 0.3 lb. It clips onto an E27 bulb socket, so it fits most standard screw-base lamps and cords without any wiring. The cloth shade is rated for damp locations, so it can go on a covered porch as well as a bedroom or living room lamp. It is a low-cost accessory rather than a fixture, and no current price was supplied for it.

Best forRenters who want to change a lamp's look without rewiringBedside and small accent lamps with E27 socketsCovered outdoor or bathroom use where a damp rating mattersScandinavian or Japanese-style interiors on a small budget
Pros
  • Clips on an E27 socket with no tools or wiring
  • Compact 7.87-inch size suits small bedside and accent lamps
  • Pleated cloth shade gives a soft, diffused light
  • Damp rating allows covered outdoor and humid rooms
  • Light at 0.3 lb, so it will not pull a small lamp over
Cons
  • Fits E27 screw sockets only, not E26-only or bayonet fittings
  • Cloth shade can stain and is harder to clean than glass or metal
  • Clip mount is less stable than a threaded shade ring
  • Small size limits it to one bulb and low-wattage use

Questions and answers

Will it fit my lamp?
It clips onto an E27 screw socket, the standard European screw base. Check your lamp's socket before buying; it will not fit bayonet or E26-only fittings.
Can I use it outdoors?
It is rated damp, which covers covered porches and bathrooms. It is not rated for direct rain or fully exposed outdoor use.
What bulb should I use?
Use a standard E27 bulb, and keep the wattage low since the shade is small cloth. An LED bulb runs cooler and is the safer choice.
Is it worth it?
It is a cheap way to soften a bare bulb or restyle a small lamp without rewiring. Expect an accessory, not a full fixture.
How big is it?
It measures 7.87 x 3.94 x 3.94 inches, so it suits small bedside and accent lamps rather than floor lamps.
What is in the box?
One clip-on lampshade. The bulb and lamp are not included.
