Are these caramels soft or hard?

They are soft, chewy caramels rather than hard candy. They soften further in warm conditions, so store the bag in a cool spot.

The sea salt is a finishing touch on top, so you get a salty hit at the start before the caramel sweetness. It is not an intensely salty candy.

How many pieces are in the 8 oz bag?

The bag holds 8 oz of individually wrapped caramels. Piece count varies by size, but expect roughly 20 to 30 pieces.

Are they a good value at $4.99?

At $4.99 for 8 oz at Target as of November 7, 2026, that is about 62 cents an ounce, in line with store-brand caramels. Only one new price is tracked, so watch for sales if you buy often.

Are they gluten-free or allergen-friendly?

Caramel is typically made from sugar, dairy and butter, so expect milk. Check the package allergen line for wheat, soy and nut warnings before buying.

When is the best time to buy them?

Candy like this often drops around Halloween, Valentine's Day and the winter holidays. With one price tracked, compare against those seasonal sales.

Our take on the Favorite Day Sea Salt Caramels

Favorite Day Sea Salt Caramels are an 8 oz bag of soft caramels finished with sea salt, sold under Target's in-house Favorite Day grocery label. The combination of buttery caramel and a salt flakes gives a sweet-salty contrast that suits snacking and candy bowls. At $4.99 at Target as of November 7, 2026, it is the only new price tracked, so there is no recent range to compare against.
