Is the Fdw 6-inch gel memory foam mattress worth it?

For a spare bed, bunk or kids' room where the mattress gets light use, it is a cheap way to get gel foam. For nightly adult sleeping, spend more on a thicker mattress.

Is 6 inches thick enough for an adult?

It can work for lighter adults and back sleepers. Most adults over about 200 pounds, and side sleepers, will want at least 8 to 10 inches of foam.

Does the gel foam really sleep cooler?

Gel-infused foam is designed to draw heat away better than plain memory foam. At this thickness and price, expect a modest difference, not a cool-to-the-touch feel.

What sizes and thicknesses does the Fdw mattress come in?

This listing is the Twin, 75 by 39 inches and 6 inches thick. Fdw also sells other sizes and thicknesses, so check the size and height before ordering.

Does it work on a sofa bed or bunk bed?

Yes. The 6-inch height and light weight suit sofa beds, trundles and bunk decks. Measure the frame depth first so the mattress does not sit too low.

When is the Fdw mattress cheapest?

Thin foam mattresses like this one tend to drop during holiday sales and back-to-school events. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Fdw Mattress 6 inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress

The Fdw 6-inch gel memory foam mattress is a budget foam bed in Twin size, 75 by 39 inches, aimed at guest rooms, bunk beds, sofa beds and kids' rooms. The gel-infused foam is meant to sleep cooler than plain memory foam, and the 6-inch profile keeps it light and low. At 3.6 out of 5 from 244 ratings, owner feedback is mixed. It is a thin, low-cost mattress, so expect a firm, minimal feel rather than deep cushioning.
