Fenbeli 70mm Aperture 300mm Refractor Astronomy Telescope

Our take on the Fenbeli 70mm Aperture 300mm Refractor Astronomy Telescope

The Fenbeli is a small refractor telescope with a 70mm aperture and a 300mm focal length, sold with a Barlow lens. That combination gives low-to-moderate magnification, enough for the Moon, bright planets and large star clusters. It is a beginner's first scope, not a deep-sky instrument. At $57.99 at Lowe's as of November 4, 2026, it is a budget entry price; only one store lists it new, so there is no meaningful price history to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the Fenbeli 70mm telescope worth it?

For a first scope at $57.99 at Lowe's as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way to see the Moon and bright planets. Do not expect sharp views of faint galaxies or nebulae.

What can you see with a 70mm aperture?

The Moon, Jupiter and its moons, Saturn's rings and bright star clusters. Faint deep-sky objects need a larger aperture.

What does the Barlow lens do?

It multiplies the eyepiece magnification, usually by 2x. At this aperture, pushing magnification too high gives a dim, blurry image.

Is it good for kids?

Yes, it is light and simple to point. A parent should help with the tripod and focusing.

When is it cheapest?

Only Lowe's lists it new, at $57.99 as of November 4, 2026. Watch that listing for markdowns; there is no second store to compare.

Where is the Fenbeli 70mm Aperture 300mm Refractor Astronomy Telescope cheapest?
