Questions and answers

Is $375.99 a good price for the Firman P03501?
Yes. That is at the low end of its recent range and well below what 4450-watt generators usually cost. Three stores list it new, so compare shipping and pickup before buying.
Will it run my RV air conditioner?
A 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner draws roughly 2,800 to 3,500 starting watts, which fits within the 4450 peak. Larger dual-zone or 15,000 BTU units may need a soft-start kit.
How loud is it really?
Firman rates it at 75 dB at 7 m and 75% load, which is about the level of a busy street. Many campgrounds enforce quiet hours or 60 dB limits, so check rules before booking.
Does it come with wheels and oil?
Yes. The box includes a wheel kit, engine oil, a funnel and an assembly tool kit. You add gasoline and assemble the wheels and handle.
Can I back up my house with it?
Only partially. It puts out 120V, so it can run a fridge, lights, fans and a furnace blower through extension cords or a transfer switch, but not a 240V well pump, dryer or central AC.
How long does it run on a tank?
Up to 14 hours at half load on the 18.9 L tank. Expect closer to 7 to 9 hours running an RV air conditioner or other heavy loads.
