Our take on the Folding Dining Table and Chairs, Space Saving Drop Leaf Kitchen Table with 4 Chairs and Storage, 59.06" Extendable Small Dining Room Table with Wheels, Fully Assembly Required Solid Wood (Walnut)

This is a walnut-finish solid wood dining set from Cyclauricate: a rectangular table with two drop leaves, four chairs and built-in storage, mounted on wheels. The leaves fold down to shrink the footprint and extend out to seat up to six, so it works as a small kitchen table that opens up for guests. The listing claims seating for eight, but the stated capacity with the leaves is six, and only four chairs are included. Assembly is required despite the spec sheet saying otherwise, and there is no written warranty.

Best forSmall kitchens and apartments where floor space is tightRenters who want a table that folds and rolls awayHouseholds of four that occasionally host two moreBuyers who want solid wood rather than particle board
Pros
  • Drop leaves shrink the table when not in use
  • Casters make it easy to move against a wall
  • Built-in storage holds linens or small items
  • Solid walnut construction with a matching finish
  • Extends to seat six with the leaves up
Cons
  • Only four chairs ship, though the listing says seating for eight
  • Assembly is required, contradicting the spec sheet
  • No written warranty
  • Walnut solid wood is heavy and can be marked by heat and water
  • Six seats is the realistic maximum, not eight

Questions and answers

How many people does it actually seat?
Four with the leaves folded down, using the four included chairs. With both leaves extended it seats six. The 'seating capacity: 8' figure does not match the stated leaf capacity of six or the four chairs in the box.
Does it really come fully assembled?
No. The product name says fully assembly required, and the spec sheet's 'assembly required: N' conflicts with that. Plan on assembling the table, leaves, casters and chairs yourself.
Is the top real walnut wood?
The listing states solid wood for the top, base and legs, with a walnut finish. Solid wood tops need coasters and trivets; wipe spills promptly to avoid rings.
Can the wheels be locked?
Casters are included for moving the table, but locking casters are not specified. If you need the table to stay put, check the wheel type before buying or plan to swap in locking casters.
What is in the box?
One table and four chairs, five pieces total. No other seating, cushions or warranty paperwork is listed.
When is the price likely to be lowest?
Large furniture like this tends to discount around major sales events and at the end of a season. Check the price history on this page before buying rather than assuming the current price is the floor.
