Is the FoodSaver V4400 worth it over a cheaper sealer?

If you freeze meat or sous vide regularly, the stronger 800-watt pump and automatic lid are the main reasons to pay more. For occasional use, a basic model seals just as well.

Can it seal liquids or wet foods?

It handles moist foods better than entry-level sealers, but it is not a chamber sealer. Freeze liquids briefly or use the moist setting and leave headroom in the bag.

What bags does it use?

It takes FoodSaver rolls and pre-cut vacuum bags, plus most universal embossed-channel bags. Smooth vacuum bags from chamber sealers will not work.

About 20 inches wide, 11 inches deep and 12 inches high, and roughly 10 pounds. Measure your counter or cabinet before buying.

When is the price lowest?

Our take on the FoodSaver V4400 Vacuum Sealer

The FoodSaver V4400 is a countertop vacuum sealer with an 800-watt pump and a 2-in-1 design that handles both vacuum sealing and plain heat sealing. It has a clear window over the sealing area so you can line up the bag, and it runs automatically once you close the lid. It is a large machine at about 20 inches wide and 10 pounds, so it needs dedicated counter or cabinet space. The best new price is $234.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, with 3 stores listing it new.
