Does it fit a 1964 Galaxie 500 and a Galaxie 500XL?

It is listed for most 1964 Ford cars, which covers Galaxie models. Confirm your body style and mounting points before ordering, since fitment is stated broadly.

Are brackets and bolts included?

No. The bumper ships without brackets or hardware, so plan to reuse your originals or buy a mounting kit separately.

Is it real chrome or painted steel?

It is chrome-plated steel. The listing does not state plating thickness or warranty, so inspect it on arrival for pits or thin spots.

Why does it cost about $1,000?

Chrome plating and low-volume tooling for a single model year drive the price. Only one new listing exists at $998.09 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, so there is no cheaper new option to compare.

Can I install it myself?

Yes, if your original brackets are sound. It bolts to the factory mounting points, but the steel is heavy and a second person helps with alignment.

There is one new seller, so pricing is unlikely to move much. Watch for a drop below $998.09 rather than expecting seasonal sales.
