Is 21.5 quarts big enough for canning?

Yes for water-bath canning. It fits roughly 7 quart jars or 9 to 10 pint jars in one batch, which covers most family recipes. It is not a pressure canner and should not be used for low-acid foods like green beans or meat.

Does it work on induction?

Yes. The base is stainless steel and listed as induction compatible, and the flat bottom also works on gas, electric coil and glass-top ranges.

What comes in the kit?

The listing confirms the pot and a tempered glass lid. A canning rack, jar lifter and other accessories are not confirmed, so plan to buy a rack separately if you need one.

Can I use it for anything besides canning?

Yes. It works for boiling corn, crab, lobster, pasta and stock. The glass lid makes it less suited to long, heavy boils than a pot with a metal lid.

Is it worth it for a beginner?

It is a reasonable starter size for water-bath canning and general boiling, and the induction base adds flexibility. Compare the price against a pot that includes a rack and lifter before deciding.

Canning pots tend to drop in price in late summer during harvest season and again in January. Check the price history chart before buying.
