Our take on the Gabriel 69675 Ultra Front Shock Absorbers

The Gabriel 69675 is a single front shock absorber for older Mercury cars, sold with an accessory kit. It is a painted metal, stud-mount OEM-style replacement aimed at restoring a worn front suspension on a budget. At $30.60 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price we track, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • Low price for a name-brand replacement shock
  • Sold with the accessory kit needed for install
  • Stock-style valving keeps the original ride feel
  • Simple stud-mount design that swaps out with basic tools
Cons
  • Sold as one shock, so a front pair costs double
  • Fits specific Mercury applications only, not universal
  • Basic twin-tube design, not a performance upgrade
  • No published warranty or mileage rating in the listing

Questions and answers

Does the Gabriel 69675 fit my car?
It is listed for specific Mercury applications only. Check your model year and front position against Gabriel's fitment chart before ordering, since it is not a universal shock.
Is the price good?
At $30.60 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is a low entry price for a brand-name front shock. We only track one new price for it, so there is no history to show whether it runs cheaper elsewhere.
How many shocks come in the box?
One shock and one accessory kit. If you are replacing both front shocks, order two.
Should I replace both front shocks at once?
Yes, in most cases. Shocks wear at similar rates, and replacing one side only can leave the car handling unevenly.
Is this a performance upgrade?
No. It is an OEM-style direct replacement meant to restore the original ride, not stiffen or lower the suspension.
What is included with the shock?
The shock and an accessory kit for mounting. Reuse or replace other hardware as your service manual specifies.
Where is the Gabriel 69675 Ultra Front Shock Absorbers cheapest?
At Walmart, for $30.60, as of our latest check.
