Are Gain Flings good for sensitive skin?

Gain lists this product for household use and describes the scent as fresh, but the fragrance is strong and the brand does not market Flings as dye- or fragrance-free. If you have sensitive skin, a free-and-clear detergent is the safer choice.

How many loads does the 5-pound box do?

That depends on the pac count printed on the box, which varies by package. A 5-pound box typically holds roughly 60 to 70 pacs, and each pac is one load.

Can I use Gain Flings in an HE washer?

Yes. The pacs are designed to dissolve in high-efficiency machines and in cold water. Put the pac in the drum before adding clothes, not in the dispenser drawer.

Do Gain Flings work in cold water?

They are formulated to dissolve in cold water, but very short cold cycles can leave residue. For heavily soiled loads, a warmer wash helps.

Are Gain Flings the same as Gain liquid detergent?

They share the Original scent, but the pac form is pre-measured and cannot be adjusted for load size or pre-treatment. Liquid Gain lets you dose more for large or dirty loads.

When is the best time to buy the 5-pound box?

Bulk boxes are most often discounted during store laundry promotions and around major sales events. Compare the per-pac price across sizes, since the largest box is not always the cheapest per load.

Our take on the Gain Flings Laundry Detergent Pacs, Original

Gain Flings are single-dose laundry pacs in Gain's Original scent, a fresh, fruity-floral fragrance the brand is known for. Each box holds 5 pounds of pacs, roughly 60 to 70 loads depending on the count, and the pacs dissolve in hot or cold water in standard and high-efficiency machines. Gain markets them as a budget-friendly option with strong scent payoff rather than a stain specialist. The 5-pound box is a bulk size, so the per-load cost is usually lower than small tubs, but no current price was provided for this listing.
