Our take on the Game Of Thrones The Complete Series Seasons 1-8 DVD 38-Discs

This is HBO's complete Game of Thrones on DVD: all eight seasons across 38 discs in one box set. It is the full run from the first season through the divisive final season, with the bonus features included on the original season sets. At $37 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what this set has sold for, well under the $100-plus it often fetched earlier in its life.

Pros
  • All eight seasons in one box, no separate purchases
  • 38 discs means the full episode run plus extras
  • DVD plays on nearly any player, including older laptops
  • At $37 it costs less than a single season did at launch
Cons
  • DVD picture is standard definition, not HD
  • The final season is widely disliked
  • 38 discs take real shelf space
  • Streaming offers the same show in higher quality

Questions and answers

Is this the full series?
Yes. It covers seasons 1 through 8 on 38 discs, the entire run of the show.
Is it worth buying on DVD instead of Blu-ray?
Only if you lack a Blu-ray player or want the cheapest complete set. Blu-ray gives sharper picture and better sound for a modest premium.
Does it include bonus features?
Yes. The set carries the extras from the individual season releases, including behind-the-scenes material and episode commentaries.
Will the final season ruin it for me?
That depends on you. Many viewers found season 8 rushed, but the first six seasons are widely regarded as some of the best television made.
When is it cheapest?
Complete-series box sets tend to drop around Black Friday and during HBO anniversary promotions. The $37 eBay price as of November 4, 2026 is already near the low end.
