Questions and answers

Is the GAOMON 5-tier rack worth $83.99?

At $83.99 at Macy's as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a 72-inch, five-shelf MDF unit. Comparable wood-shelf racks often run $100 or more, but with only one store listing it, you cannot count on a lower price elsewhere.

How much weight can each shelf hold?

GAOMON markets this as heavy duty, but the listing does not state a per-shelf weight rating. Treat the MDF boards as suited to boxed goods and mid-weight items rather than engines or full water jugs.

Can I adjust the shelf heights?

Yes. The shelves are adjustable, so you can set uneven gaps for tall items like a microwave or storage bins and tighten the spacing for smaller goods.

What are the exact dimensions?

The rack measures 36 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 72 inches tall. Check doorways and ceiling clearance before assembly, since it stands about 6 feet tall.

Does it come with hardware and instructions?

It ships as a flat-pack kit with the frame, five MDF boards and assembly hardware. Budget about an hour and a second person for the tall frame.

Is MDF a good choice for a garage?

MDF is fine in a dry garage but can swell and warp in damp or humid conditions. Keep it away from leaks and off wet floors.

Where is the GAOMON 5-Tier Heavy Duty Storage Rack with MDF Boards 36 x 16 x 72 In cheapest?

At Macy's, for $83.99, as of our latest check.
