Our take on the GAOMON 6 Inch Bed Frame

The GAOMON 6 Inch Bed Frame is a low-profile metal platform frame with slats, sold in Twin, Full/Double, Queen and King. It stands 6 inches off the floor, needs no box spring, and uses EVA foam padding plus rubber leg washers to cut squeaks and protect floors. It is a budget, frame-only buy: no headboard, no mattress, no storage. Its latest best price sits at the low end of its recent range, so it is a fair time to buy.

Best forShoppers who want a minimal, low bed without a box springGuest rooms, kids' rooms and small bedroomsPeople who dislike squeaky metal framesAnyone furnishing on a tight budget
Pros
  • 6-inch height keeps the bed low and out of the way
  • Metal slats support the mattress directly, no box spring needed
  • EVA padding and sponge in the slats target squeaks and rattles
  • Rubber washers on the legs protect hardwood and tile
  • Hardware and labeled parts included for assembly
  • Available in Twin through King
Cons
  • Frame only: no headboard, mattress or bedding
  • 6-inch clearance leaves little room for under-bed storage
  • Low height can feel awkward for taller or older users
  • Metal slat spacing may not suit every mattress type

Questions and answers

Is it worth it?
Yes if you want a cheap, low platform frame that skips the box spring. Skip it if you need a headboard or under-bed storage.
Do I need a box spring?
No. The metal slats support the mattress directly.
Will it fit my mattress?
It comes in Twin, Full/Double, Queen and King, so match the frame size to your mattress size. Check the slat spacing against your mattress maker's recommendation, especially for memory foam.
What is in the box?
The frame, slats and all assembly hardware, with labeled parts and instructions. Mattress and bedding are not included.
Is it quiet?
The slats have EVA padding and sponge to reduce noise, and the legs have rubber washers. Tighten all bolts fully during assembly to keep it quiet.
When is it cheapest?
Low-profile metal frames like this usually drop during mattress and bedroom sales events. Its latest best price is already near the low end of its recent range.
