Our take on the GardenJoy Cordless Drill Set 21V Power Drill with 2 Batteries and Charger

The GardenJoy Cordless Drill Set is a 21V drill driver with a keyless 0.38-inch chuck, two batteries, a charger and a built-in light, sold in pink. It is a budget kit aimed at light household work rather than heavy building. Its price has held flat at $44.99 since November 1, 2026, so there is no cheaper day in its recent history to wait for.

Pros
  • Two batteries and a charger included at a low price
  • Built-in light helps in closets, cabinets and under sinks
  • Keyless chuck allows fast bit changes
  • 21V rating gives more torque headroom than 12V kits
  • Light pink body is easy to find in a toolbox
Cons
  • 0.38-inch chuck limits you to smaller bits and light-duty drilling
  • No torque clutch settings listed, so driving screws precisely is harder
  • Budget 21V packs often deliver less real power than the label suggests
  • Pink color is a love-it-or-hate-it choice
  • Not suited to masonry, deck building or sustained use

What reviewers say

Owner feedback on budget 21V drill kits like this one is mixed. People praise the value of getting two batteries and a charger for under $50, but commonly note weak torque and short runtime under load.

Pros
  • Good value for a complete kit with two batteries
  • Light enough for overhead and one-handed work
  • Built-in light is useful in dark spaces
Cons
  • Struggles with hardwoods and larger bits
  • Battery life drops quickly under continuous use
  • Chuck and gearbox feel plasticky on budget units

Questions and answers

Is this drill worth $44.99?
For light jobs around the house, yes. At $44.99 at the listed store as of November 1, 2026, two batteries and a charger make it a low-risk starter kit. It is not a substitute for a name-brand drill for serious work.
What is the difference between 21V and 18V drills?
Most 21V budget drills use the same cell count as 18V tools and simply label peak voltage. Expect similar real-world power to an entry-level 18V drill, not a big step up.
What size bits does the 0.38-inch chuck take?
It accepts bits up to about 3/8 inch shanks, which covers common drill and driver bits. Larger hole saws and heavy auger bits will not fit.
Does it come with drill bits?
The set is listed as the drill, two batteries and a charger. Budget kits sometimes add a small bit set, but do not count on bits being included unless the box says so.
Can it drive screws into wood?
Yes for softwood and pilot holes. Without a torque clutch, you control depth by feel, so practice on scrap first to avoid stripping heads or over-driving.
When is the best time to buy it?
Its price has not moved from $44.99 since November 1, 2026, so there is no cheaper day to wait for. Watch for holiday tool sales if you are not in a hurry.
