Is the Garvee 48-inch lawn sweeper worth it?

For large lawns with trees, yes. It covers 48 inches per pass and holds 26 cu ft, so it replaces a lot of raking. On small lots or mostly wet debris, a rake or blower may be simpler.

What can tow this sweeper?

It uses a universal hitch, so most riding mowers, lawn tractors and ATVs can pull it. Check that your hitch pin fits the sweeper's tongue before buying.

How do you empty the hopper?

Pull the dump rope from the driver's seat to tip the 26 cu ft hopper. You do not need to get off the tractor to empty it.

Does it work on wet leaves?

Not well. The brushes are designed for dry grass clippings and leaves. Wet or matted debris clumps and clogs the hopper, so sweep after the lawn dries.

How wide is it and how much does it weigh?

The sweeping width is 48 inches and the unit weighs about 75 lb (34 kg). The steel frame keeps it rigid while towing.

When is the price lowest?

Lawn sweepers usually drop in fall leaf season and again in late winter. The current best new price is $223.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026.
