Is a soft crate safe for a dog that chews?

No. Fabric and mesh give way to determined chewers. Use a wire or hard crate for dogs that chew or dig.

What size dog fits the extra-large?

It is 28 inches wide and 28 inches tall, which suits most large breeds that stand under about 27 inches at the shoulder. Measure your dog standing and lying down before buying.

Does it come with a bed?

Yes. A fleece bed is included with the crate.

Can I use it in a car?

It works for carrying a dog between places, but it is not crash-tested. Use a crash-tested hard crate or carrier for travel in a moving vehicle.

It is the best new price found, $80 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, and low for an extra-large soft crate. Two stores list it new, so compare before buying.

The fleece bed is removable and washable. Wipe the fabric and mesh with a damp cloth and let it dry fully before folding.

Our take on the GarveeLife Collapsible Soft Dog Crate with 4-Side Mesh and Fleece Bed

The GarveeLife Collapsible Soft Dog Crate is an extra-large soft-sided crate, 28 inches wide and 28 inches tall, with mesh panels on all four sides and a fleece bed included. It folds flat for travel and storage, which is the main reason buyers pick a soft crate over a wire one. The best new price is $80 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, and two stores carry it new. That is a low price for an XL soft crate, so it sits at the budget end of its recent range.

Pros

Four-side mesh gives airflow and lets the dog see out
Folds flat, so it stores in a trunk or closet
Fleece bed included at no extra cost
28-inch height fits most large breeds standing
$80 at eBay is cheap for an extra-large soft crate

Cons

Soft fabric walls won't hold a determined chewer or digger
Mesh can tear if a dog paws at the zippers
No rigid frame, so it sags when carried full
Not a substitute for a crash-tested hard crate in a moving car

What reviewers say

Buyers of soft crates in this class generally like the light weight and quick setup for travel, and accept that the fabric is not chew-proof. Complaints center on zippers and mesh failing with strong dogs.
