Is this a good choice over a single wall oven?

Yes if you regularly cook multiple dishes at different temperatures. The trade-off is a taller cutout and a higher price than a single 30-inch oven.

What are the dimensions and cutout size?

The unit is about 29.75 inches wide, 53 inches tall and 26.75 inches deep. Check your cabinet cutout against GE's spec sheet before ordering, since cutouts vary by model year.

Does it need a special electrical circuit?

Yes. It needs a 240V hardwired connection, typically on a dedicated 40-amp circuit. Plan for a licensed electrician if the circuit is not already in place.

Does the upper oven have convection?

Yes, the upper oven has true European convection. The lower oven is conventional, so expect slightly less even results there.

Both ovens have self-clean cycles, and there is a steam-clean option for light soil. Self-clean runs hot and takes a few hours, so plan it for a day you are not cooking.

Double wall ovens usually drop during major appliance sales around holidays and during kitchen remodel season. Watch for bundle discounts when bought with other GE appliances.

Our take on the GE 30" Double Electric Wall Oven

The GE 30" Double Electric Wall Oven is a built-in double oven with two 5.0 cu ft cavities, giving you two independent ovens in one 30-inch cabinet cutout. It stands out for its self-clean upper and lower ovens, steam-clean option and a control layout that lets you run both ovens at different temperatures. It is a standard 30-inch width, so it drops into most existing wall oven cutouts, but it needs a 240V hardwired connection.
