Our take on the George Oliver Vintage Solid Wood TV Console

The George Oliver Vintage Solid Wood TV Console is an orange-finished media cabinet built from solid wood, standing 20.9 inches tall and 15.7 inches deep, with a closed cabinet for components and cords. It is a statement piece rather than a neutral one: the orange finish and vintage styling suit rooms that want visible furniture, not a black box under the screen. At $2,899.99 at Wayfair as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the top of the furniture market, with only one store pricing it new and no lower recent price to compare against.

Best forBuyers furnishing a mid-century or eclectic living roomPeople who want closed storage for media gearShoppers who treat the TV stand as a design pieceLarger rooms with wall space for a low, wide console
Pros
  • Solid wood construction, not veneered particleboard
  • Closed cabinet hides consoles, cables and clutter
  • Distinctive orange vintage finish stands out from typical media furniture
  • Low 20.9-inch height keeps the TV at a comfortable viewing line
  • Shallow 15.7-inch depth fits narrow walls
Cons
  • $2,899.99 is very high for a TV console
  • Orange finish is bold and hard to match with existing decor
  • Only one store lists it new, so there is no price competition
  • Shallow depth limits space for deep AV receivers
  • No stated TV size rating or cable-cutout details

Questions and answers

Is $2,899.99 a fair price for this console?
It is the only new price listed, at Wayfair as of November 3, 2026, so there is no competing store to undercut it. Solid wood construction justifies some premium, but this is priced like a statement furniture piece, not a basic TV stand.
What size TV will it hold?
The listing gives height and depth but no width or maximum TV size, so measure the top against your screen's footprint before buying. At 20.9 inches tall, it keeps most TVs at a low, sofa-friendly viewing height.
Will the orange finish match my room?
Orange is a strong, warm tone that works best with neutral walls, wood floors and mid-century palettes. In a room built around gray, white or cool blues it will read as a deliberate accent.
Does the cabinet fit a cable box and game console?
It has a closed cabinet, which is the main storage for components, but the 15.7-inch depth is shallow. Check the depth of any AV receiver or console before assuming it will fit behind the doors.
Is it worth it over a cheaper TV stand?
If you want solid wood and a piece guests notice, the construction and finish are the reason to pay. If you mainly need a shelf under the TV, a mass-market stand costs a fraction of this.
When is it likely to be cheapest?
With a single seller, discounts depend on that store's furniture sales rather than cross-store competition. Watch for holiday and clearance events at Wayfair, and check the price history before buying.
Where is the George Oliver Vintage Solid Wood TV Console cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $2,899.99, as of our latest check.
