Our take on the Ghostwire Tokyo Deluxe

Ghostwire Tokyo is a first-person action-adventure from Tango Gameworks set in a supernatural Tokyo where almost everyone has vanished. You play Akito, who gains elemental powers and a grappling hook to fight Visitors and cleanse torii gates. The Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with extra cosmetic and in-game content. It is a single-player game that runs on Xbox Series X and S; online play is listed but the campaign is offline.

  • Strong art direction and creature design from Tango Gameworks
Cons

Questions and answers

Is Ghostwire Tokyo Deluxe worth it over the standard edition?
Only if you want the extra cosmetic and in-game items. The Deluxe Edition does not add new story missions, so players who just want the campaign can buy the standard version.
Does Ghostwire Tokyo run on Xbox Series S?
Yes. It is listed for both Xbox Series X and Series S. The Series S version runs at lower resolution and detail than the Series X version.
Is this a download-only game?
Yes. The listing is a digital download, so you need storage space on your console and an internet connection to install it.
Do I need Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass to play?
No. The campaign is single-player and does not require a subscription. Online play is listed, but the main game is played offline.
How long is the campaign?
The main story runs roughly 12 to 15 hours. Completionists exploring side missions and collectibles can spend 30 hours or more.
